These specific platings are resulting from the setting up of industrial processes allowing the realization of the deposit on the entire surface of the piece, said "full plating", as well as only on part of it, and in this case we speak about "selective deposit". With the aim to answer every day a little bit more to the functionnal as well as economical targets of our customers, the selectivity is possible :

On the sides of the precut piece or of the full band. We then talk about selective plating on the edges.

On strips disposed in the center of the precut pieces or of the bands. We then talk about plating of strips.

On specific areas of the precut pieces or of the bands. We then talk about spot plating.

In certain applications, a sub-layer is necessary before the tin deposit. The effect of this sub-layer is to defer diffusion of elements from the base metal into deposit in the coated alloy within the final layer (brass).

For each type of tin-plating, the coating can be:
Selective strips with one or more strips.
Tolerance: ± 0.2 mm.
Minimum width of strips: 4 mm.
Total: in this case, the entire surface is coated

Thickness of deposit:
In practice, between 0.8 and 20µm.
